EPP Project Courses are offered each Fall and Spring semester. Projects are interdisplinary problem-solving courses in which students work as leaders or as members of project teams. They are run jointly each semester by the Department of Social and Decision Sciences, the Department of Engineering and Public Policy, and the Heinz College at Carnegie Mellon. The purpose of these courses is to give students experience working on unstructured, real-world problems that, for proper treament, require teamwork and contributions from diverse disciplines. They are managed by students and monitored by faculty advisors. Problem areas are abstracted from local, state and national situations and involve the interaction of technology and public policy. Oral and written presentations concerning the results of project studies are required.

Prerequisite: junior or senior standing as EPP student or permission of instructor.
