Professor Morgan is interested in a wide range of problems in science, technology and public policy. Much of his work has involved the development and demonstration of methods to characterize and analyze uncertainty.

With colleagues in the Center for the Integrated Study of the Human Dimensions of Global Change he has addressed issues in the integrated assessment of climate change impacts and policy. With colleagues in the Electricity Industry Center he is exploring problems such as distributed resources, carbon management, and basic technology research to support clean energy. He has worked extensively in risk analysis, communication and ranking. He is an active participant in the Center for the Study and Improvement of Regulation.
