Book on Internet Economics Has Strong EPP Presence

There is a strong EPP presence in the recently published book Internet Economics edited by Lee W. McKnight and Joseph P. Bailey (MIT Press, 1997).  Bailey, who works in the Technology, Management and Policy Program at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, completed a double major BS in EE and EPP at Carnegie Mellon in 1989.
The book contains twenty chapters.  After a general introductory chapter, jointly authored by Bailey and McKnight, the remaining chapters are divided into five sections titled: The economics of the internet; Interconnection and multi-cast economics; Usage sensitive pricing; Internet commerce; and Internet economics and policy.  Bailey authored a chapter in the second section titled "The economics of internet interconnection agreements."  The section on usage sensitive pricing contains two more chapters by authors with EPP ties.  Qiong Wang (EPP Ph.D. 1998), Jon Peha (ECE/EPP) and Marvin Sirbu (EPP/ECE/GSIA) contributed a chapter titled "Optimal pricing for integrated services networks," which discusses pricing in ATM networks.  Ketil Danielsen and Martin Weiss (EPP Ph.D. 1988), now on the faculty in Information Science at the University of Pittsburgh, contributed a chapter titled "User control and IP allocation."
